Toothy
February is National Children's Dental Health Month
Well, I am the son of dentist. With that coursing though my blood, I share this poem, so far untitled.
divvy up your mouth 30 seconds a quarter outward count 15 chompy parts 5 inward count 10 “little circles, little circles” i taught my toddler to the tune Frere Jacques dormez vous? gum massage first soft bristled touch along the bone meets flesh flipping out obtrusions like spinach and stewed beef suds scraping plaque off sodium lauryl sulfate there for the unnecessary foaming effect like the kid in Little Giants with the really deep voice when he wanted to intimidate and he faked rabies with an Alka Seltzer but when i finally found an Alka Seltzer and i put the Alka Seltzer in water i was disappointed in the just bubbles anyway i stopped using paste with sodium alkylethersulfates i forget the reason. my only cavity was the result of terrorism no terrorists or fluoride were allowed in my rural county public water supply chemicals man that’s how they control you don’t just scrub the outsides get right up in there behind on top between inside you never know where the gingivitis insects laid their plaque eggs time to floss bloody gum it for a few goes before you work up tolerance there’s alcohol in mouthwash that’s why it stings that’s how you know that it’s working dentistry is partially psychological it should either feel really good or a little painful otherwise you're doing it wrong get back to the basics little circles dormez vous?
Also, if you are wondering what I think about the revised common lectionary’s treatment of the sermon on the mount, you can read about it here, at the presbyterian outlook. Even if you weren’t wondering, you can read the piece. That’s okay.
In wordy wordiness,
Walter
