90s Music
and cookies
Hi Friends,
Here’s a poem!
I’m Feeling Nostalgic For
Back in the glory days of Chumbawamba.
Back when the world sang Smash Mouth,
when Cake made music
as did the Presidents of the United States of America.
Back in the aftermath of Flood
and the Birdhouse In Your Soul.
Back when you could hear Butthole Surfers
singing songs on the radio.
Back when Bare Naked Ladies made an album
for children,
and everyone agreed that this was a natural
progression for their art.
Back when I’m in the kitchen drinking milk
with my plastic packaged cookies
wrapped in blue, white, and red,
like America.
Back when I’m pondering a lyric
spinning around in a beautiful oblivion
while I stare at the blender on the counter
simply in awe of genius.
In wordy wordiness,
Walter
